Inventory Assistant

Location: Centerville, IA (in-person)
Type: Part-time (with potential to grow)
Pay: Hourly, based on experience

🧶 About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-loving helper to keep the back end of our fiber arts shop running smoothly. This role focuses on receiving shipments, counting materials, assembling kits, and keeping shelves stocked — all the hands-on things that make our products shine.

It’s perfect for someone who enjoys quiet, focused work, has an eye for detail, and loves the feel of wool, cotton, and color-coded shelves.

No crafting skills are required — but if you love fiber arts, even better!

📋 What You’ll Do

Kit & Product Assembly

  • Count, weigh, and sort cotton loops and wool by color and quantity

  • Assemble kits for our subscription boxes and retail customers

  • Bag loops and pack materials using pre-set lists or patterns

Receiving & Restocking

  • Receive deliveries and unpack incoming inventory

  • Check counts against packing slips

  • Stock shelves and keep workspace clean and organized

  • Rotate inventory so older items are used first

Workspace Organization

  • Keep backroom supplies, bins, and boxes labeled and tidy

  • Flag low inventory to the store manager

  • Maintain accurate counts for ongoing loop and wool needs

(Future Growth Opportunity)

  • Learn to track inventory in Shopify or spreadsheets

  • Eventually take over placing restock orders

  • Communicate with vendors and coordinate timing with the team

Support Events & Store Needs

  • Assist with prep for local classes, events, or pop-ups

  • Occasionally support the retail team if needed
